History || Lagos will be hosting free guided tours to its historic landmarks every Thursday during the months of July and August.
Entitled ‘Passeios com História’ (Tours with History), the council-organised tours will be taking place in the mornings in July and in the evenings in August.
Early birds should meet at the São Gonçalo Arch at 9.30am for a walk around the town centre, focusing mostly on its ancient walls and history surrounding them.
In August, participants should meet at 10pm outside Esplanada do Infante café before a tour aboard the local tourist train around Lagos’ main monuments as tour guides provide insight into their origins.
The tours are led in Portuguese and are free of charge, although prior registration is required at the tourism office in Praça Gil Eanes.
