FEELING IN the mood for a touch of nostalgia? Have fond memories of boogieing to such dance floor classics as Ladies Night, Celebration, Le Freak and Good Times? Enjoy dressing up? Then you won’t want to miss Disco 06, an eight hour music extravaganza dedicated to funk and disco taking place at Pavilhão Atlântico in Lisbon on November 11.
Two of the best known funk and disco bands from the 70s and 80s will be live on stage: Kool and the Gang in their original line-up and Chic, who will be led by two of the band’s original vocalists, Norma Jean and Luci Martin.
In addition to these two top groups will be a Stevie Wonder tribute band, as well as sets from several DJs spinning all the biggest hits from the disco era.
Everyone is encouraged to get dressed up in 70s and 80s gear to add to the atmosphere and, if it’s anything like last year’s event, that includes hairstyles too!
Doors open at 8pm with the Stevie Wonder tribute act first on stage at 9.30pm. Chic perform at 10.15pm and Kool and the Gang will be on stage at 11.30pm. The disco finishes at 3.30am.
