Don Sebastião came to the throne at the age of just three years old but by the time he was 24 he had lost his life after his ill-fated invasion of Morocco.
Facts such as this about the reign of Don Sebastião will feature in talks given by Peter Booker, who will be exploring the “catastrophic” outcome his time as King had on Portugal.
The talks will be taking place on February 16 in Lagoa at the Convento de São José at 6.30pm and on February 26 at 11am in the municipal library in Tavira.
Entrance is free for the Tavira talk and two euros for the talk in Lagoa. For further information, please email [email protected] or call 281 971 567.
