Deutsche Schule celebrates

The recent feast of S. Martinho, which is celebrated both in Portugal and in Germany, inspired the Deutsche Schule Kindergarten section of the Estoril-based school to put on an entertaining evening for parents and visitors alike. The evening started with the children singing to get everyone in the party mood. Then a traditional march began, lit by the glow of the children’s creatively decorated lanterns. The local PSP police stopped and diverted the traffic while the children marched behind them, accompanied by the Estoril Brass Band. As the children returned to the school they were welcomed with an excellent array of inviting food and roast chestnuts that had been organised by the Parents’ Association. For parents there was also an inviting mug of hot spiced wine to take the chill off the night.
