A detox workshop was held last Saturday at the Hilton Vilamoura Hotel by two local healthy living and nutritional practitioners, Teresa Santos and Lourenço Ribeiro.
This was the second edition of their “Cure with Detox” workshops and was well received by a full house of keen fledgling detoxers who were primed to get some tips on how to improve their quality of life with the help of natural foods.
The hosts explained the benefits of fasting only using organic materials, whether they be on the skin or consumed, the advantages to raw foods, non-fibrous juicing and much more besides.
Lourenço touched on the many common factors in today’s modern lifestyle that are cancer-causing and how we should avoid them where possible.
The workshop lasted for over four hours and allowed the participants to ask questions freely throughout the afternoon. Healthy bonbons, detoxing juices and a toxicity assessment were also available.
Lourenço and Teresa have been studying holistic nutrition and traditional medicine in Lisbon and are committed to spreading the word on living a nutritionally-rich lifestyle for prevention, cure and longevity.
In May of this year, Lourenço will open his eight-bedroom boutique hotel retreat in Guia called Alamos Retreat where he will incorporate his many years as a director of five-star hotels and personal love for wellness to create a haven for guests, including healthy foods and complementary services.
