A TEENAGER in the US, who stopped an out of control school bus last week, was later rewarded with detention.
Amanda Rouse, aged 15, was sitting on the school bus with 40 younger students when the driver fell out of the seat and hit her head after going round a bend. The teenager jumped into the driver’s seat, hitting the brakes and bringing the bus to a halt to save the day. Unfortunately, when teachers found out, they were not impressed – as she should have been in class at the time.
Amanda said she had asked the driver for a ride because she felt sick at school but she was still given a Saturday detention.
Her grandmother said she understood why the school was angry but added: “I can’t help but believe that she was where God wanted her to be.”
