Details Hotels & Resorts, a group comprising eight resorts in the Algarve, has announced that Sílvia Castro has taken over as the new Director of Marketing and Communications.
“With an impressive background and a deep passion for the hospitality industry, Sílvia brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her new role across the group’s portfolio of five lifestyle hotels and three family resorts,” the group says in a statement to the press.
“Over the past decade, Sílvia has demonstrated her talent in developing and overseeing comprehensive 360-degree marketing strategies and communications plans for high-end brands. Her exceptional skills also extend to imparting active learning methodologies to teach marketing, management, and tourism,” it adds.
Sílvia’s hospitality journey started at Vila Vita Parc in Porches before successfully launching the first Wyndham Grand on the Iberian Peninsula within the Quinta do Lago resort. Her decision to join Details Hotels & Resorts was a natural progression, she says, driven by her desire to pursue hospitality leading “transformative projects.”
Sílvia believes in a “compassionate and empowering leadership approach, fostering motivation and facilitation to unlock her team’s potential.”

Details Hotels & Resorts comprises eight units totalling over 600 rooms and 1,600 beds in two of the Algarve’s most popular locations – three family-friendly resorts in Carvoeiro (Vale d’el Rei, Vale da Lapa, and Vale d’Oliveiras) and five adult-friendly resorts in Albufeira (Aqua Pedra dos Bicos, Hotel Califórnia, Topázio Vibe, Velamar, and Bertolina Guest House).
