A woman with an outstanding debt to pay to the social security attacked an employee at Faro’s Centro Regional da Segurança Social last Friday, claiming customer service was bad.
It is reported that an altercation over the lack of customer service, related to the debt claim received in the post, led to the woman, who was accompanied by a man believed to be her husband, slapping and pulling the hair of the employee, who was left in a state of shock.
The man also attacked and injured two security guards, who had been called to bring the situation under control.
PSP officers later informed that no arrests were made but those involved were identified. Witnesses said the incident took the packed room of the Social Security branch by surprise.
They claim the woman, in her 30s, began shouting at the employee over poor customer service before lurching forward to slap her and that the security guards sustained bloody injuries after being attacked by the man.
