Depression Helena causes “more than 1000 incidents” but no injuries

With the Algarve escaping almost all the consequences, Depression Helena swept over Portugal during the tail end of last week, causing over 1000 incidents – mostly involving the falling of trees.

Coimbra was the district most affected, but even so there were no reports of any injuries. Other parts of the country where bad weather caused damages were Lisbon, Viseu, Porto and Aveiro. One plane was ‘diverted’ from Lisbon to Faro.
