Denmark – and now Italy – have decided to join Austria, Norway, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia and Luxembourg in suspending their use of the AstraZeneva vaccine following reports of “serious cases of blood clotting” in people who have received jabs. The news comes just as Portugal has finally green-lighted administration of the AstraZeneca vaccine for the over-65s. EMA – the European Medicines Agency – is now conducting an investigation.
