With some of the best of British acting talent and direction from Zwick of Blood Diamond fame, Defiance is a classy World War II film set in Belarus.
Four Jewish brothers escape from Nazi control in Poland to try and join Soviet partisans and fight to combat the Nazis and save as many Jews as possible.
Based on the book by Nechama Tec, Defiance: The Bielski Partisans, the film is based on the true events surrounding the Bielski partisans and how pacifistic and non violent Polish Jews trained in military arts to try and oppose the occupation of their homeland.
