More fatalities have been recorded on Algarve roads this year, according to Portugal’s road safety authority (ANSR).
Twenty people have been killed on regional roads between January and August, as opposed to 16 during the same period last year.
The number of people who suffered serious injuries is also up from 106 to 131, as well as the number of road accidents (from 7,101 to 7,438).
