Deadline day for government’s draft State Budget to be sent to Brussels

Today (October 15) is the day Portugal’s draft State Budget for 2020 should be sent to Brussels.

Irrespective of the fact that final (emigré votes) in the recent election have not been counted, the deadline remains in force – giving Brussels time to consider proposals ahead of its opinions, due in November.

Say reports, Brussels may ask for ‘changes’ “if it considers there could be risks of non-compliance with European rules”.
