Dead whale washes up at Cabanas de Tavira

The carcass of a four-metre whale washed up at Cabanas de Tavira Island’s beach on Wednesday afternoon.

Maritime police were alerted by a lifeguard at around 3pm, reports Correio da Manhã tabloid.

It adds that local company Tavira Verde is expected to remove the carcass this afternoon.

Biologists were also alerted so that they can analyse the whale’s cause of death.
