Two dolphins were found dead on August 29 on Faro beach.
They were spotted by swimmers, who promptly warned the authorities.
Ferreira Marques, Commander of the Maritime Police, said: “The bodies were already in an advanced state of decomposition and were removed immediately.”
Unusually high numbers of sea creatures such as dolphins and turtles have been found dead along the Algarve coastline this year.
