Danish investment fund Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners plans to invest €8 billion in an offshore wind farm off Figueira da Foz, with a production capacity of 2 gigawatts. Called Nortada, the project will be the first large-scale offshore wind farm in Portugal, said a statement by the company, whose representative in Portugal is Afonso César Machado. Mr Machado told Lusa the project aims to accelerate Portugal’s energy transition so that it will become “an example in the production of clean energy, thought in a holistic way in all its components, symbolising faith in the country’s reindustrialisation and economic growth (…) With the materialisation of this project, we intend to place Portugal at the forefront of the energy transition worldwide,” he said
