Dancing in the street  in Tavira

Between tomorrow (Saturday) and August 21 there will be a festival of art, music and dance in the Ermida de Santa Ana and surrounding square overlooking the River Gilão in Tavira.

The Dias de Santana festival is part of an initiative Tavira Ilimitada, a celebration of and by the various people living in the municipality who possess a talent of some sort.

Tomorrow the Orquestra de Ritmos do Algarve will be performing from 6pm, while on Sunday there will be a tribute to the singer and guitarist Telmo Palma from 7.30pm.

Members of the foreign community will also be contributing to the entertainment programme with the award-winning barbershop quartet Cleftomania taking to the stage on August 15 from 7.30pm, while on August 18 the Faz Fato Line Dancers will be performing from 7.30pm followed by Caribbean dance with Richard and Carmen Hoke at 8pm.
