Legendary Welsh vocalist Dame Shirley Bassey is releasing a new album that features a hit by Brit rock band Kaiser Chiefs.
Her new album The Performance features a selection of songs written by modern songwriters including Gary Barlow, Neil Tennant of the Pet Shop Boys, as well as Ricky Wilson of the Kaiser Chiefs.
The album’s producer, David Arnold, hopes the album will introduce the singer, who has a career spanning 50 years, to a whole new generation.
Other artists who have contributed to The Performance, which is the first studio recording by the Dame in 20 years, include Rufus Wainwright, the Manic Street Preachers and KT Tunstall. The album is due for release in November.
