Portugal has been overtaken (for a second time) by the Czech Republic when it comes to per capita consumption, an indication of economic well-being. The news follows latest data published by Eurostat. The Czech Republic first ‘overtook’ Portugal in this regard in 2017, then Portugal ‘bounced back’. Now 2020’s results have seen the recovery reverse. Explain reports, Portugal’s GDP and per capita consumption is now well below the European average.
