Carvoeiro resident Don Forrester completed his 400km bike ride from Albufeira to Fátima, along with 200 other riders, to raise money for the Captain James Philippson Trust.
Don, 75, participated in the mammoth bike ride from October 9 to 13 to raise funds for the trust set up in memory of Captain James Philippson, the son of Don’s friend Trish Quinlan, an Algarve resident.
Don, who was the oldest entrant, was given a well-deserved cheer at the finish and was interviewed on Portuguese TV.
Don has raised close to 500 euros and counting for the Captain James Philippson Trust, which was set up by his family and friends when James was killed in Afghanistan in June 2006.
The Trust is grateful for Don’s support.
