The bus transport services in the Portimão district are due to suffer a big reduction after March 16, with 20 vehicles from 42 withdrawn from public use along with 45 stopping points.
The local authority has revealed that the measures have been taken because of a €4 million deficit. The routes which normally service a small percentage of customers will be the first to go and one of the worst areas affected by the cuts is Mexilhoeira Grande. Transport to take children to and from school at the appropriate hours will be retained.
