At a recent fundraiser held on the terrace of the Hotel Garbe, in Armação de Pêra, many supporters of APAA (the Association for the Protection of Animals in the Algarve) turned up to enjoy the delights of an Indian Barbecue provided by the Raj at Garbe. There was a wonderful selection of delicious combinations cooked to perfection. Wine and sangria were plentiful and the ever versatile and talented Howard Parkin entertained all those present, while guests danced well into the night.
The association thanked all those present and the very generous organisations that supported the raffle, including The Resident, Pestana Golf, Safe Hands Boarding Kennels, Algarve Air Sports Centre in Lagos, Sapataria Internacional, Hotel Garbe and many more. All funds raised will be utilised for the SNiP campaign (Spaying and Neutering in Portugal).
The next APAA event will be a Barn Dance, on September 18, at Casa Chico Zé, and there will be a Halloween Party at the Hotel Garbe, on October 30 – contact Jenny 919 041 903. Alternatively, you can contact Linda Pixley on 910 368 726 or fax 282 471 347 for further information about these events and any information about the association. If anyone has any spare time, APAA is always extremely grateful for volunteers.Contributed
