Brian Kilcline who was captain of Coventry City when they won the FA Cup at Wembley in 1987 is the latest recruit to join the Over 50s Walking Football group at the José Arcanjo Stadium in Olhão.
Coventry shocked the football world by beating favourites Tottenham Hotspur 3-2 after extra-time in one of the great Cup Finals of the 20th century.
Brian will bring a touch of class to the group who strive to improve their game every Thursday from 9.30am to 11am. With the eldest players well into their 70s, it is a case of making the ball do the work and, with only two touches allowed, it is a game of skill and frustration!
Between 20 and 30 mature gentlemen, some who had never played football before, have joined the group and every week don their kit, loosen up their muscles and prepare for action on the five-a-side astro-turf pitch.
New players are always welcome even if it is only for one or two games whilst visiting the Algarve.
