Cup fever

The draw for the second round of the Portuguese Cup brought the 16 Liga de Honra clubs (top tier ‘B’ teams are excluded) into the knock-out competition – Superliga representatives such as Porto, Benfica and Sporting will only enter the fray at third-round stage the pairings for which are to be made in October. For now lady luck provided Faro with a local derby against their fellow Algarveans from Quarteira, while Portimão and Loulé travel to Viseu and Lourinhanense respectively and Lagoa host Tondela. The ties will be played this Sunday, September 16.
