Cumulative incidence now up to over 2,000 cases per 100,000

This morning’s meeting between Portugal’s ‘pandemic experts’ and members of the government opened at 10, with news that the 14-day cumulative incidence nationally is running at just over 2,000 cases per 100,000. This is the highest number of positive cases recorded since the start of the pandemic, but due to the milder nature of the dominant variant in circulation, there appears to be no sign that anyone in a position of power or authority is calling for heightened restrictions.
