ALREADY underway and set to continue until March 19, the Quinzena da Juventude (youth fortnight) in Almada is offering the borough’s young people the chance to enjoy more than 40 activities, including music, theatre, multimedia and art. Drawing the festivities to a triumphant close will be chart-topping music sensation, Da Weasel, who are set to perform a free concert on the 19th at Praça S. João Baptista. Another event that’s exclusive to this year is a session of stand-up comedy that will take place on March 17 at Casa Municipal da Juventude. Also on the programme are two photography exhibitions – one at the Centro Cultural Juvenil de Santo Amaro, the other at the Centro Comunitário do Laranjeiro. Around 20,000 youngsters are expected to take part in the Quinzena da Juventude, which was first established back in the 1980s.
