CTT, Portugal’s privatised postal service, has announced that all its post offices (Lojas CTT) are now open from 9.30am to 1.30pm.
The decision aims to ensure that CTT continues to provide services to the population whilst also protecting its employees by reducing the number of hours they are in contact with other people.
The exceptions are CTT stores located in shopping centres or airports, which will follow the same schedule as the establishment.
According to CTT, four post offices have closed as they are located inside other establishments which have closed – Lajes Airport in Azores, El Corte Inglés in Lisbon, Loja do Cidadão in Lisbon and Loja do Cidadão in Odivelas.
Doors will be closed in order to ensure that only one customer is inside the store at a time, meaning queues must be formed outside, keeping a safe distance between clients.
CTT employees are also allowed to use masks, gloves and disinfectant whilst attending to clients.
Regarding the Pontos CTT, the company says that some changes may be made to schedules depending on the partners who provide this postal service.
