CTT Post Office workers strike twice this week

With parts of the country already receiving postal deliveries so late they risk being cut off from public utilities, CTT post office workers have upped the ante by going on strike altogether. Today (Monday) and Wednesday will see post offices closed; no deliveries. The strike is for “a decent salary”, not the extra €7.50 per month that boss have offered. Syndicate spokesman Carlos Prazeres says the “value of workers’ salaries is falling all the time”. The trouble with this argument is that it applies to almost every worker in the country and across Europe right now.
