Cruising the Algarve coast

ALGARVE CRUISES, operated by the Douro Azul Group, has launched a selection of unique day cruises along the Algarve coast, aboard their luxury liner, the MS Algarve Cruiser.

The modern vessel boasts four decks and has a capacity for 130 passengers. The sun deck features a swimming pool, as well as two jacuzzis and an outside bar. There are 65 double cabins, offering either verandas or panoramic windows, as well as modern facilities including private bathroom, air conditioning and TV.

The new day cruises are seasonal and operate every day, except on Tuesdays and Fridays. The five different routes available are:

• Portimão to Vilamoura

• Vilamoura to Vila Real de Santo António

• Vila Real de Santo António to Alcoutim

• Vila Real de Santo António to Vilamoura

• Vilamoura to Portimão.

Optional tours to Lagos or Mértola, in the Alentejo, are also for sale on board, and transfers returning to the point of departure can be arranged.

Algarve Cruises is also operating as cruise liners until March 2007, with a selection of seasonal three-day, six-day or seven-day cruises along the Algarve coast and Guadiana River.

Tickets for the day cruise cost 65 euros each and include a gourmet lunch buffet. Tickets for children aged between three and 11 cost 32.50 euros.
