A cruise ship passenger, aged 75, sailing from Madeira to Spain was seen “voluntarily” jumping from a balcony on the 8th deck into the sea below.
NATO Allied Maritime Command confirmed that the woman’s body was retrieved from the Gulf of Cadiz some hours later.
The dead woman’s identity has not been revealed, although it is clear from a Newsweek report that she was travelling with a ‘partner’.
