It was a classic battle of the sexes on February 25 at the Amendoeira Bowls club with women versus men in the final.
Peter Cain beat Peter King to secure his place in the final, with Jean Walton beating Janette O’Neil.
However, it was the men who triumphed overall, with Peter winning 11-6 against Jean in the final.
The Monday match on March 1 also went ahead on the crown green with a full entry list of 34 players.

In the first semi-final, Ian Skilton and Stuart Greenwood were beaten by Annette Lawrie and Tom Scotland 11-7.
In the other semi final, Christine Moore and Peter Cain beat Peter Wrigley and newcomer Bob Wannell 11-4.
In the final, it was the ladies in each pair that outshone their male partners. Annette Lawrie consistently outbowled the opposing lead player Peter Cain, but it was Christine Moore who playing in some magnificent woods to get nearest the Jack to win 11-5 and provide Peter with his second win in a bowls final within a week.
There will be no weekly competitions next week as from March 8 the Iberian Crown Green Cup will be played at the Amendoeira Bowls Club.
There are still some places left for those who wish to enter the competition which costs 50 euros per player to enter.
