Crisis boosts TV watching

The number of hours of television being watched daily increased considerably in 2012. The reason for this social aspect is said to be related to higher unemployment, less available money for leisure expenditure and the need to be informed about the economic crisis. According to data from CAEM/Mediamonitor, Portuguese audiences watched, on average, over five-and-a-half hours of television a day, one hour more than the average in 2011.
