Criminal trio caught

A gang of three Portuguese men were caught by GNR police on June 25 for suspected robbery of homes belonging to Portuguese and foreign residents as well as commercial establishments in the Silves area.

The homes of the men, aged between 19 and 23, were searched by the police who confiscated 14 cannabis plants, 72 rifle cartridges, four air rifles, 26 mobile telephones, documents of victims and foreign currency.

Following their arrest, the trio were seen by a judge at Portimão court who released them, pending trial, with Termo de Indentidade e Residência, whereby they are not allowed to change address and must be available to speak to the authorities when notified.
