Criminal case opens after 70 children suffer food poisoning in Beja

Health and Safety authority ASAE has opened a criminal case in Beja after 70 children needed treatment in hospital for food poisoning. A number of sub-standard food products and 240 ‘out-of-date’ eggs have also been confiscated. The food appears to have be prepared for the children, aged from 3-10, by an IPSS solidarity association. It’s not clear which entity is being ‘investigated’. The children all showed clear signs of ‘food poisoning’, as did a number of adults. Three children were kept in hospital overnight.
