THE RESIDENT went along recently to watch the Portuguese national cricket team put in some final practise for this weekend’s major competition in Belgium.
Having already won this prestigious European championship once and coming home third last year, we spoke to Sandy Buccimazza, the national team coach, to find out what the team’s chances are for this year. He told us that it’s becoming harder as there are some good teams entering. “We have a strong team, who has worked hard to improve the game. They will give it all this weekend,” the coach said.
