The concession to build the Algarve’s first crematorium in Faro has been awarded to Servilusa, Portugal’s largest funeral agency.
Servilusa will be responsible for the crematorium’s conception, construction and management.
The project, whose investment represents around €900,000, includes two cremation furnaces, a chapel, mourning halls, reception area, a memorial garden to lay ashes and a coffee shop located near Faro’s new cemetery in Penha.
The new crematorium is expected to be completed in January 2013.
