Sculpture exhibition Selection of Graces by Karl Heinz Stock is being inaugurated in the stunning setting of Sagres Fortress on August 3 at 6pm.
The Graces exhibition, organised by the German artist, who is owner of Quinta dos Vales wine and art park in Estombar, in association with the Algarve Regional Culture Department, is being held for the first time in a national monument.
Ten sculptures, made of fibreglass and polyester, have been selected for the show from the Quinta dos Vales’ collection of art.
The Graces depict voluptuous women in exuberant poses. “They float like moving ballerinas, transmitting joy, intimacy, ingenuity, irony and humour,” say the organisers.
The Sagres Fortress, which stands majestically on a clifftop, is visited annually by thousands of people.
The exhibition runs until September 30.
