The needlework and crafts group based at São Brás museum hosted a workshop dedicated to Hardanger, a traditional Scandinavian form of embroidery, on February 24.
Karin Arntzen, a Norwegian national and professional needle worker who advises dressmakers and museums on the design of Norwegian costumes and accessories, was invited for the workshop and after an initial demonstration, group members were each given a small Hardanger kit to get started.
Karin gave a talk to the members of the needlework group wearing her own national costume which she designed and made by hand in 2000.
