CR7 to buy and demolish golf clubhouse “ruining” mansion view

Football star reportedly feels clubhouse is “ruining” the mansion’s view

The rumour mill went into overdrive today over reports that Portuguese football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is planning to buy and tear down a golf clubhouse near his under-construction mansion at Quinta da Marinha in Cascais because it “ruins the view.”

Almost every major tabloid in the UK is running the story, claiming that the 37-year-old Manchester United star is offering to relocate the entire building and its car park.

According to The Sun, Ronaldo is unhappy with the proximity of the neighbouring Oitavos Golf Club.

The footballer has reportedly instructed his lawyers to open negotiations with the golf course, his ultimate goal being to “offer more privacy” to his family. Adds the paper, the Portuguese national team captain plans to move into the home with girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez and his five children once it is completed sometime next year.

The Sun also reports that CR7 has added a garage equipped with elevators, capable of housing 30 supercars, to the mansion project.

The tabloid cites a source close to the project, who has said: “The clubhouse was a problem for him so he wants the problem removed.

“Cost is not an issue – he is a perfectionist who can afford perfection,” the source added.

The star’s lawyers were yesterday reported to be in negotiation with Oitavos Golf Club owner, Miguel Champalimaud, who so far has not commented on the matter.
