CR7 is most charitable athlete in the world

It is not just Ronaldo’s football skills that are earning him awards and nominations. The Real Madrid footballer has landed the number one spot on ‘Athletes Gone Good’, a list of the world’s 20 most charitable athletes.

According to non-profit organization, Ronaldo has raised money for various causes including “donating more than $83,000 to a 10-year-old fan in need of brain surgery and giving more than $165,000 to fund a cancer center in Portugal that treated his mother”.

CR7 is also praised for using “his fame as a global spokesperson for a variety of causes including childhood hunger, obesity and biodiversity”.

Other athletes on the list include wrestler John Cena, tennis player Serena Williams, figure skater Kim Yuna and Brazilian footballer Neymar.
