CR7 admits “I am at a low personal moment”

Spanish TV station Cuatro has revealed that CR7 Cristiano Ronaldo – handed a two-game suspension following his on-pitch attack on Cordoba defender Edimar last Saturday (see: https://www.portugalresident.com/cr7-%E2%80%9Cworld%E2%80%99s-best-player%E2%80%9D-shows-his-worst-possible-side) – has admitted to teammates that he is at a “low personal moment”.

According to Cuatro, 29-year-old Ronaldo called colleagues together in the Real Madrid changing rooms on Tuesday afternoon “for a private meeting”.

He is understood to have “shown remorse for his expulsion in the last game and apologised”, justifying the gaff which saw Edimar kicked and slapped with the explanation that it has been “difficult to deal with the alterations that his private life has suffered”.

Teammates are understood to have taken the explanation to refer to the end of his five-year-relationship with Russian model Irina Shayk, adds Cuatro.

The current suspension means CR7 will miss the Primera Division games against Real Sociedad and Seville.
