‘Covid burglar’ ransacked Algarve homes of expats during lockdown

A 41-year-old man has appeared in court charged with raiding the homes of expats during lockdown.

The properties, predominantly in Monchique, Vila do Bispo and Aljezur, were all vacant as their owners were sitting out the pandemic in their home countries.

Say reports, the man’s home in Silves yielded all kinds of ‘tools linked to the construction sector’, various GPS devices, bottles of alcohol and three shotguns.
