Portugal’s Court of Auditors (TdC) is carrying out the prior inspection of five contracts worth a combined €41.6 million relating to World Youth Day (WYD), the mass Roman Catholic event scheduled to take place in Lisbon at the beginning of August. Of these five contracts, three relate to the purchase of goods and works totalling €16.6 million and two to loans “amounting to approximately 25 million euros,” according to the TdC’s responses to questions from Lusa.
