Counterfeit wine market costs Portugal €19 million per year

A European study has found that Portugal loses €19 million per year to the counterfeit wine market, and an extra €8 million if spirit drinks are taken into account as well.

In Europe, the losses amount to €1.3 billion.

The data was revealed in a study by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (IPO).
