Countdown begins for Algarve Chefs Week

Featuring 10 chefs from the Algarve’s best hotels and restaurants and promising the “best food the region has to offer”, the fifth edition of Algarve Chefs Week is almost upon us.

Taking place between April 26 and May 3, this year’s event has a number of novelties.

The last pre-publicity workshop takes place in Loulé market this Saturday at 3pm and a cookbook with the event’s recipes will be available the following weekend on April 25.

Meantime, the event this year has posed chefs with the challenge of basing their menus on five of the region’s most characteristic products – flor do sal (flower of salt), dried figs, carobs, ‘fava’ (broad) beans and oranges.

Each of the participating hotels will be open for dinner with special menus costing €30 (drinks not included).

As in previous years, €1 of the price of each meal will be donated to the CASA charity in Faro which supports people in need throughout the Algarve.
