Councils get technical support

In a bid to modernise administrative departments in local councils, an agency for the region’s development has created an electronic invoicing system to be implemented in all Algarve câmaras by April.

Agency Globalgarve, in partnership with the regional coordination and development commission (CCDR), is responsible for the project, which it describes as “pioneering in Portugal because all 16 Algarve câmaras will benefit from one solution”.

The electronic invoicing system, representing an investment of 450,000 euros, will be installed in the Algarve Digital regional data centre and the work is expected to be completed within three months.

The new system aims to reduce the cost of administrative work and bureaucracy and increase transparency at local level.
