VILA REAL de Santo António Câmara has recently signed a contract with the Associação de Comerciantes da Região do Algarve (ACRAL), the Algarve retailers and business owners’ association, outlining the concept for the construction of this year’s carnival floats.
The Câmara has announced that it will invest 90,000 euros towards the cost of them.
As well as the floats, the agreement includes the decoration of Praça Marquês de Pombal and the creation of backdrops for the Vila Real de Santo António and Monte Gordo stages.
February’s carnival festivities in Vila Real de Santo António have always been a great tourist attraction, bringing many visitors to the borough. Therefore, the council has decided to continue investing in the carnival to make this year’s event even better than previous celebrations.
