IN RESPONSE to an appeal from Riding for the Disabled in the Algarve (RDA) for corks to improve the surface of the arena at Pinetrees Riding Centre in Almancil, WineMine has turned up trumps.
On a recent sunny afternoon, two huge barrels of corks were delivered to the centre – the focus of disabled riding in the Algarve – where they will be mixed with wood chippings to provide an ideal surface for riding.
WineMine distributes selected wines to its customers and arranges wine tastings throughout the Algarve, so they are in the perfect position to solicit corks from their 900 Wine Club members, many of whom deposited them at the WineMine office in Silves. Here’s hoping everyone continues to enjoy Portuguese wine and save corks for this worthy cause.
