A MAN has been convicted of killing his brother and wife, eight years after the crime took place.

Rui Correia das Neves was sentenced in Albufeira court to 25 years in prison for the double homicide of the couple, which occurred in November 1998, as a result of a dispute over the construction of a wall separating their homes.  A total of nine bullets were fired, as Neves used a hunting rifle, it was reloaded at least twice.

Following the murder he fled and, after eight years on the run, voluntarily gave himself up in April 2006.
