Alcoutim council has officially confirmed that its contraband festival will be returning next year between March 23 and 25.
The event was held for the first time this year and dubbed a major success, attracting thousands to the usually sleepy town and its Spanish neighbour across the water (Sanlúcar de Guadiana) to celebrate the communities’ mutual history of late-night smuggling.
